Fast and Easy- Very Accommodating

Posted by cyn213 on 4/11/2008

I got my braces on at the end of June last year (07). I have the Damon 3 System type braces. These braces are supposed to be self-ligating braces that create less friction and less pain. They're also supposed to be on less time than ordinary, traditional braces. At the beginning of my treatment I only went in every 2 months or so which was very convenient. So far, the treatment has been a breeze. Now, I've been in every 4-6 weeks, depending. Appointments are easy to change, and the wait time in the waiting area is never longer than 5 minutes. On average I'd say my appointments have been about 30 minutes each. I can always be in and out within an hour tops. They have a assembly line type of treatment area where all the dental chairs are lined up. They have 8-10 workstations. The have a computer at each workstation where the ortho assistants are able to pull up your chart and entire history. Including your x-rays. They update the chart as you sit there and at the end of the visit, once you get back to the reception area to make your next appointment, the receptionist already knows when you should be back for your next visit. I've been accommodated for every emergency visit- all I've had to do was call and they fit me right in. Their computer system makes things very easy. I have a login on their website where I'm able to check my appointment history and my account balance. Although the process has been easy, very quick and easy to get in and out, I do find a lack of personal attention to the patients. Each time I've seen a different ortho assistant. The actual Orthodontist only comes by and checks to make sure the work has been done properly or to make small corrections and adjustments. I was given a treatment time estimate of 18-24 months. But I'm hoping the braces will be off in something more like 12-16.
